Rejoice in the Lord Always!
by Msgr. Stuart Swetland, s.t.d.
Do you radiate gospel joy wherever you go? Can people tell that you are a Christian and a Catholic, just by your sunny smile? In this feature, Monsignor Stuart Swetland illuminates the path to joy, true joy in the love of Jesus which differs from mere happiness that the world offers. One of the major obstacles to joy is the fear of suffering, and through this fear, many succumb to sin and death. Oh, that’s just not right! We can live a life of peace and joy only by conquering fear, and that’s exactly what God wants us to do. Read this, and don’t forget to ask yourself: have you picked up your happy button today? (Any copy of Envoy will help you do this.)
Common Myths and Mistakes about the Deuterocanon
By Gary Michuta
26Imagine listening in at the Council of Trent. The church fathers agree that no council should overturn anything that previous councils decided. The potential hot-button issue of the Deuterocanon fizzles instead of sparks. And you, the listener, can feel free to go grab another cuppa. The Deuterocanon, called the Apocrypha by our Protestant siblings in Christ, was still accepted at Trent even though many myths have cropped up declaring those books of the Bible to be false. Even Martin Luther kept the Deuterocanon in his Bible! Thank goodness we have Gary Michuta to clear up the misconceptions about Scripture, and put a smile back on our faces at the way humans love to argue.

How many people, even among the Saints, can say that they willingly accepted the cross of grisly suffering, to minister to a people who were condemned and banished from society? Read on to discover why this amazing priest, in the Year of Priests, will be canonized and should be hailed as a hero.

Varsity Sins
by Emily Eby
Ever wonder what a college campus would look like if people had to walk around with letters on their chests? No, not athletic letters, the letters of sin — like the one Hester Prynne had to wear. That’s right, the big red A. Would students proudly show off the big letters, L, G, B, T, or A? In this feature, Emily Eby describes the happy atmosphere that permeates the autumn air, as each club, sport, and group on campus tries to recruit, or even convert students. But do those groups have the students’ souls in mind? Eby’s insight on choosing a college is absolutely vital, as thousands try to navigate their school of choice. Will you help them choose which team to play for? (Hint: the answer is, Heaven’s Team!)
