Looking
for Martyrs in St. Edmund's College

When an American professor of literature visited
a four-hundred-year-old college in England in search of rare manuscripts,
he found much more than hed bargained for. Two large plaques
posted at the schools main entrance opened up for him a
whole new world of interest. Martyrs of Our College,
the title read in Latin, followed by the names of more than a
hundred and fifty men, each with the date and place of his execution.
The visitor became a pilgrim: Within those aged walls he was soon
to encounter the heroic witness of courageous Catholics who had
died for the Faith.
