• All Generations Shall Call Me Blessed, by Francisco Manelli. Mary and her role in the Church
• Any Friend of God’s Is a Friend of Mine, by Patrick Madrid. The biblical and historical evidence for honoring and praying to Mary and the saints.
• The Aquinas Catechism, by (who else?) St. Thomas Aquinas. This master theologian explains the basics of the Faith with power and clarity.
• Blood of the Martyrs, Seed of the Church, by Paul Thigpen, Ph.D. Stories of Catholics who defended the Faith by giving their lives for it.
• Born Fundamentalist; Born Again Catholic, by David Currie. The conversion story of a former Protestant.
• Catholic for a Reason, volumes 1 & 2, by Leon J. Suprenant, Jr., Scott Hahn, et al. General apologetics.
• Catholicism and Fundamentalism, by Karl Keating. General apologetics for use with Protestants.
• Collected Works, by G.K. Chesterton. Check out especially volume 3 of this anthology, which includes essays on why he became Catholic.
• Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma, by Ludwig Ott. Indispensable reference guide that gives succinct explanations plus biblical and historical references for all Catholic doctrines.
• A Handbook of Christian Apologetics, by Ronald Tacelli, S.J., and Peter Kreeft. Atheists and relativists take cover! This powerful volume answers each of their standard arguments against God and morality with overwhelming clarity and charity.
• The Hidden Manna, by Fr. James T. O’Connor. On the Holy Eucharist.
• The Lamb’s Supper, by Scott Hahn, Ph.D. Explains from Scripture the reality of the sacrifice of the Mass, and shows how you can share this treasure with non-Catholics.
• Mary and the Fathers of the Church, by Luigi Gambero. Marian doctrines as taught in the early Church.
• My Spirit Rejoices, by Elisabeth Leseur. A poignant and powerful spiritual diary of a convert to the Catholic faith whose courage cost her friends and family.
• On Being Catholic, by Thomas Howard, Ph.D. The perfect book to give a curious non-Catholic. Written by a brilliant convert from Protestantism, it offers deep apologetics insights into the Catholic faith that are as gentle and winsome as they are powerful.
• On the Development of Christian Doctrine, by Ven. John Henry Cardinal Newman. Powerful defense and demonstration of the Catholic teaching on how doctrines develop, but never change.
• Pope Fiction: Answers to 30 Myths and Misconceptions about the Papacy, by Patrick Madrid. Gives the biblical and historical answers to challenges against the papacy.
• Rome Sweet Home, by Scott and Kimberly Hahn. The moving conversion story of two former evangelical Protestants.
• The Rosary of Our Lady, by Romano Guardini. Provides an excellent overview of the theology underlying this prayer, and why praying the Rosary is appropriate for all Christians.
• Surprised by Truth (volumes 1 & 2), by Patrick Madrid. Conversion testimonies by former Protestants, atheists, Jews, Mormons, and others.
• Theology and Sanity, by Frank Sheed. This is the book for explaining the difficult aspects of the Faith, such as the Trinity, the divinity of Christ, and eternity.
• Where Is That In the Bible? by Patrick Madrid. A crash course in apologetics on forty-five major themes, such as Mary, purgatory, salvation, the papacy. Includes hundreds of Bible citations.
• Winning Souls for Christ, by Fr. Raoul Plus. Excellent, practical guide for how to share the Faith effectively with others.
