Radio:
Now you can get "Right Here, Right Now," right where you are.
Great things are in the making. In a recent issue, I told you about our new radio-magazine program, “Right Here, Right Now.” In this issue, I’m happy to be able to bring you up to date on where the program can be heard. Our plan calls for ramping up a major marketing effort aimed at getting the program aired on stations around the country. I’ll explain “phase one” of that plan - and the role you can play in it - but first, here is the current situation: “Right Here, Right Now” airs on about two dozen AM and FM stations around the country. Check the ad on page 21 of this issue for station list. Starting in May, “Right Here, Right Now” will also be heard worldwide on WEWN’s Global Catholic Radio network. To get a list of WEWN frequencies and show schedules, you can visit their Web site at www.ewtn.com, or you can call them at 205-956-9537. And if “Right Here, Right Now” isn’t in the air where you live, you can still hear it by going to our Website-www.envoymagazine.com-and calling up the archived shows (this feature will be ready in May). Bringing it on home. . . Don’t worry if the show isn’t playing anywhere near you. We’ve got a plan to get “Right Here, Right Now” in your area and, at the same time, help your local parish or Catholic apostolate evangelize. Here’s how: We provide radio-ready copies of “Right Here, Right Now” for free, and you find a local station to play them. The only charge for you is the cost of the station’s air-time. However, this can be covered by the sponsoring group. The sponsor receives two 30-second commercials that air at the beginning and conclusion of “Right Here, Right Now.” If the sponsor is a parish, for example, it could use those commercials to provide an invitation to learn more about the Catholic Church (great for inviting people to RCIA programs and adult religious education classes) the parish’s address and phone number, and the schedule of Masses and confessions. Think of the evangelization possibilities! Here’s how to get started: First, call your local AM or FM radio station to inquire about airtime costs and availability. Mention your desire to air “Right Here, Right Now.” Occasionally, perhaps out of anti-Catholic bias, Protestant stations will refuse to run a Catholic program. This unlikely situation can usually be overcome. Contact Envoy and we’ll explain what to do next. Second, determine how the program will be paid for. Your parish or a group of parishes in the area might want to sponsor the show. You can raise funds in a variety of ways, including a special once-a-month Sunday collection to support the parish’s very own radio outreach (believe me, many parishioners will be excited by this new and innovative dimension of their parish evangelization program, and they will be motivated to donate). Third, once you’ve arranged for things with the radio station and you have the funding for the cost of airtime covered, Envoy will begin sending the radio station the installments of the show on broadcast-quality CDs. Then you and your fellow Catholics can tune in, turn on, and get fired up because you have a state-of-the-art Catholic evangelism radio outreach broadcasting weekly, touching souls, and changing lives, in your home town! “Right Here, Right Now’s” radio magazine format is the perfect way to bring Christ to the world. It’s free (aside from the cost of airtime), it’s fast-paced, fun, and exciting. It’s interesting and thought-provoking to Catholics and non-Catholics alike. It’s never dry or confrontational, but is always winsome and charitable. And best of all, it’s already done and waiting to go on the air in your area. You can evangelize your neighbors with top-quality Catholic radio programming and get the word out about your parish or apostolate. Ready to get started? It’s fast and easy. Your personalized Local Catholic Radio can be up and running in two weeks. Our staff is ready to answer any questions you have.
