It seems like a lifetime ago that the Envoy crew started to talk about a blog. It was actually just a few months ago, but since then I've moved 2512 miles (I counted, trust me), all the way from Eugene, Oregon (Left Coast), to central Ohio (no coast, but lots of fields).
I'm excited that Envoy Encore is up and running, and I think our readers will enjoy their visits to our modest and kind-hearted blog, dedicated to "Bringing Christ to the World," and especially focused on Catholic apologetics and evangelization. In addition to the Envoy staff, regular contributors will include some of Envoy's columnists and folks who have written features for the magazine.
A major goal of Envoy Encore is to provide, in the form of small, pithy, and occasionally witty posts, our thoughts and comments about sharing the Faith, defending the Church's teaching, proclaiming the Gospel, and catechizing those (all of us!) who need to learn more about Jesus Christ and His one, holy, Catholic, and apostolic Church.
Those of you familiar with the print version of Envoy will know that we take the Catholic Faith very seriously––but we don't take ourselves quite so seriously. This means, I hope, a blog that will be full of meat, but free of the flame-throwing, bully-pulpiting (is that a word?) and chest-beating sometimes found on other blogs.
Encore! Encore!
